Annapurna Poon Hill Trek Detail Itinerary

Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu

As you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, you will get greeted by the representative of Himalayan Frozen Adventure. He/she will take you to the hotel that we have already booked for you in the advance. You get informed about the evening plan with some spare time to relax.

To welcome you, the company has organized a traditional welcome dinner along with a cultural dance. You will meet with other team members over dinner and end the day with lots of laughter.

Day 02:Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation

You wake up and have a delicious breakfast. After that, you will go on a short guided city tour during which you visit places like Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhnath Stupa, etc. These monuments are part of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Your tour guide will explain about the monuments. Later, you meet with your trek guide and talk about the trail. He will help you check all the gear and documents before the final packing. 

Day 03:Kathmandu to drive Pokhara (827m, 6-7 hours)

This day begins with a delicious breakfast and then a long drive to the lake city called Pokhara. During the drive, you get to see beautiful views of rivers, small settlement areas. lush green hills, and waterfalls. Upon reaching Pokhara, you head to the hotel. You are free to explore nearby areas. If you want, you can also do boating on the tranquil Fewa Lake enjoying a stunning sunset.

Day 04:Pokhara to drive Nayapul (1/2 hours) & trek Ulleri (2050m, 5 hours)

After having breakfast, you take a short scenic drive to Nayapul. From Nayapul, you begin trekking towards Ulleri. The trail goes through lush forests, crossing Bhurungdi Khola on a bridge. Passing by Tikhedhunga, you continue ascending towards Ulleri village.

Day 05:Ulleri to trek Ghorepani (2750m, 4-5 hours)

Leaving Ulleri behind, you ascend through lush forests of rhododendron and small villages to reach Ghorepani village. Ghorepani is a beautiful village surrounded by hills and lovely forests. You get to see stunning views of Annapurna South, Mt. Nilgiri, and many other snow-capped peaks from this village.

Day 06:Ghorepani to trek Tadapani (2700m) with a visit to Poon Hill (3210m - 6 to 7 hours)

This day is the most famous and excited about this trek. Wake early morning and hike to amazing Poon Hill for getting to see an awesome sunrise over the mountain and a panorama view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. From poon hill the landscapes are wonderful, then you descend to Ghorepani lodge for breakfast and bag pack. Leaving Ghorepani, the trail leads to the lush colorful forest and small teahouses. A short ascent from Deurali crosses a River to reach Tadapani, here you can also enjoy the surrounding landscapes and local lifestyle. Overnight stay at Tadapani trekking lodge.

Day 07:Tadapani to trek Ghandruk (1940m, 3-4 hours)

A steep descent through dense forests of rhododendron and other wildflowers, you move towards Ghandruk. On the way, you get to see stunning views of snow-capped Himalayan mountains like Mt. Machhapuchhre, Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, etc. You will reach the fine Ghandruk village resided by Gurung. Here, you get to see the daily lifestyle and culture of the Gurung people.

Day 08:Ghandruk to trek Chhomrong (2170m, 5-6 hours)

Leaving Ghandruk behind, you ascend through the forested path and reach Kamrunag Danda. The trail from here offers wonderful views of Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,993 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m), and Mt. Gangapurna (7,455 m). With a steep descent, you reach Kimrong Khola and walk on another steep path that leads to Chere Danda. From here, you drop down and walk towards Chhomrong. 

Day 09:Chhomrong to trek Bamboo (2310m, 4-5 hours)

From Chhomrong, you walk on stone steps and reach Chhomrong Khola. Crossing a suspension bridge, you ascend to Sinuwa. Further, the trail passes through a lush forest to Kuldihar and descends to Bamboo.

Day 10:Bamboo to trek Deurali (3230m, 3-4 hours)

From Bamboo, you trek through the dense and damp forest. The trail ascends steeply to the Himalayas and passes by a lush forest. You reach Hinku Cave and descend enjoying beautiful views of Mt. Dhaulagiri to reach Deurali.

Day 11:Deurali to trek Annapurna Base Camp (4130m) via MBC (3700m, 5-6 hours)

You will begin walking along a steep riverbed path and reach Bagar. From here, the trail gradually ascends to Machhapuchhre Base Camp with offers stunning views of the Himalayan mountains like Mt. Annapurna I (8,091 m), Mt. Annapurna South (7,219 m), Mt. Annapurna III (7,555 m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Mt. Gangapurna (7,455 m), etc. Leaving MBC behind, the trail moves along Annapurna Sanctuary and leads you to the base of Mt. Annapurna, Annapurna Base Camp. Here, you get to relish panoramic views of the Annapurna Himalayas.

Day 12:Annapurna Base Camp to trek back Bamboo (2310m, 7–8 hours)

Today you can enjoy the Himalayan breakfast with an amazing sunrise over the Annapurna range. We take a short hike to a sensational view of the glacier, Mountains. Then trail back through Machhapuchhare base camp, Modi River valley, Deurali, and Himalayan Hotel. Then finally you reach the Bamboo where we spend our night.

Day 13:Bamboo to trek back Jhinu Danda (1760m, 5-6 hrs)

Today, the trail ascends to Kuldighar. From here, you descend and walk along Chhomrong Khola. Further, climbing stone steps, you reach Chhomrong and drop down to Jhinu Danda for a night stay. At Jhinu Danda, you will find a natural hot spring, where you can spend time soothing your body and mind.

Day 14:Trek to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara (830m, 6 hrs trek) & (1 hrs drive)

Trek to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara (830m, 6 hrs trek) & (1 hrs drive)After having a warm breakfast, you descend to Nayapul. The trail will be the same as before and passes through Birethanti. From Nayapul, you hop on the bus/van and drive to Pokhara. In the evening, you are free to explore the bustling Lakeside Market and do boating on tranquil Fewa Lake.

Day 15:Pokhara to Drive back Kathmandu (1350m, 8 hrs)

After a quick breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu today. The drive will be long and scenic. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will move to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to shop and relax. In the evening, you join the farewell dinner organized by the company for you. 

Day 16:Final departure

Today, you will fly back to your home. You will check out of the hotel, and our representative will move you to the airport.

Is Annapurna Base Camp Trek Difficulty?

This trek is easy than the Everest base camp trek, Annapurna Base Camp Difficulty is classified as moderate, who has good healthy fitness, perfect training, and already has done a trek above 3000m, those trekkers can do easily this trek. The trek's high elevation is a base camp (4,130m). All of age people can enjoy this trip.

Is it necessary to need travel Insurance for this trek?

The travel insurance will cover emergency evacuation as Helicopter rescue and the hospital charge. If you fell into an accident and have Acute mountain sickness then, at this condition, your travel insurance will immediately provide the helicopter. 

Electricity does available on the Annapurna base camp trek.

Yes, electricity is available in the lower region of Annapurna trek, where you can get to charge your camera and mobile batteries, etc. But high elevation there has solar system power so it's not enough for the charge. So we suggest you take some extra batteries for this Annapurna base camp trek.

Is possible to take my children to the Annapurna base camp trek?

Of course, all ages can do it but before going trekking, you have to give training for your child.

Is possible to get a hot shower the trekking?

Yes, a hot shower is possible to get many lodges and teahouses but above the 4,000m is not available and not good for your health.
